The Vow

My family traveled down to see my sweet grandpa (we call him Pop) on Monday. His health is failing quickly and we expect him to pass on to heaven soon. My Grammy is living and seems quite strong mentally.

Pop cannot speak, but can still hear. I sang Amazing Grace to him and he squeezed my hand hard throughout each verse. Jonathan read quite a few Bible passages to him and Pop squeezed his hand at some of his favorite verses.

Perhaps the greatest moment, though, was when Grammy and Pop were reunited. Grammy kissed him and he smiled. Then they lay in bed together holding hands.

I couldn’t help but think of the wedding vows they made to each other so many years ago.

Today, I am thankful for a God whose love never fails.

But I am especially grateful for Grammy & Pop. Their testimony of love will far outlive their years on earth.

All because of Jesus.

What a beautiful picture of your Gandparents holding hands! I cried reading about the time you and Jonathan were able to spend singing and reading to you’re Pop. Precious moments! Praise God for you’re Godly Grandparents! May the Lord bring peace and comfort to you and your family!
