Do you love this cold weather?I do – and soup is one of the reasons I love it.
You know, you can eat soup on hot days. It still tastes good. But it doesn’t taste as good as if you ate it on a cold, blustery day.
Here are 3 of my favorite soup recipes:
Corn and Potato Chowder via Mama Loves Food
This stuff is just great. I made it for our Sunday lunch 2 weeks ago. I had to omit the bacon because my hubby cooked it up the night before and there was none left. (more on that bacon love here) But it still tasted a.ma.zing. even without the bacon. In fact, there was a LOT left after lunch and I was planning on putting a container in the freezer so we wouldn’t be eating the stuff for breakfast-lunch-dinner for 3 months. Good thing I didn’t. We finished it off in 2 days. My daughter LOVED it too! Can’t beat that… 🙂
Okay, seriously, don’t knock this unless you’ve tried it. I don’t even like cauliflower. I mean, I eat it because I know it’s good for me, but I don’t make it a lot. However, this stuff…this stuff is in a different category. Delicious. Really. I plan to make it this week and am going to attempt to make bread bowls to serve it in. We’ll see how that goes. No promises it will turn out picture-worthy, but hopefully the bowls will at least be edible. 😉 {UPDATE: they looked edible tasted delicious! I wrote about them here.}
Zuppa Toscana via The Pioneer Woman
Ever tried sausage, potatoes, and kale together in a soup? You must. This soup is extremely tasty + healthy greens are included. Win.
I have 2 small containers of this soup in my freezer. I am saving them for a special day. One on which I do not feel like cooking. I will pull these puppies out of the freezer, make some bread, and declare dinner made.
Love days like that. 🙂
So, those are 3 of my favorite soups. How about you? Got any fave soups to share? Spill the beans, please. I’m always up for a new recipe!!!

Hey Christa! Have you ever made Taco Soup? I just made some…a month or so ago from a recipe from a friend and we LOVE it!! (oh, and I made it yesterday because it’s so easy and good) And it’s pretty healthy (lots of beans and such) and super, super easy. I haven’t really made a lot of soups but some of the ones you posted look really yummy! I might have to broaden my regular menus sometime soon… 🙂 Have a Merry Christmas!
