I am rather excited to share this post with you. π if I could duplicate that smiley face a hundred times without being redundant, that would express my excitement quite well. π
So, what started as this:
(sorry – ipod pic)
gradually turned into this:
(after a paint job)
and while collecting inspiration pics, I came across this:
which led me to this:
The material isn’t sheer – it’s actually 100% cotton – and if you want more specifics, it’s the one I bought from fabric.com. You can find it here. (and it’s on sale right now until 9/12, so if you really like it…) π
here’s the pattern close-up:
I wasn’t planning to use the white ring clips, so I had actually sewn a rod pocket in the top of the panels. But when I put them up there – one with the clips & one without – I decided I loved the “clipped” one better, so I went with it. By the way, the clips and rods are from Ikea. Would you like to know how much I paid for the rod?
$1.99.
Yow. That’s awesome. They only measure 55″ and I would normally have gotten longer ones for the job, but seriously – who can beat a $1.99 curtain rod? I decided 55″ would be perfect. π
(see how my garden stool made an appearance in the pics?)
Still gotta work on some color for the bed and art for the walls. The pics up there on the sill are not necessarily a permanent fixture. We were having guests over and I wanted something personal in the room, so I popped those on the sill for a non-permanent personal touch. π I’ve had some thoughts floating around in my head for bed color and wall art, but nothing final that IΒ knowΒ I want to do.
So for now, I’m still looking for inspiration and waiting to be inspired. If you have any thoughts, feel free to share. I love learning from other people’s ideas!
Oh, by the way… did you notice the flowers on the tiebacks? Here’s a slightly closer pic so you can inspect:
The flowers are one of my fave parts. (I’m such a girl.) π They were pretty simple (although they did cause The Burn of 2011 which produced pain and tears). I’ll share more about them next week.
Until then…I hope you love my curtains as much as I do. π My hubby and I really love them. They make the room look more complete. I will admit, though, I had my doubts about how things would look when I got it all together. I’m happy to say my doubts have been put to rest completely. I {heart} it!!!

Hope you all have a splendid weekend!

Love your color combination, and love that curtain fabric! It looks great coming all together. BTW, I saw a garden stool like yours yesterday and it was like $60, and of course I thought of you and smiled. Keep breezing around blogland and I think you’ll come across some art ideas that’ll excite you and make your room complete. Meanwhile it’s already looking great!
Yay, yay, yay!!! Positively beautiful! I like how you picked your inspiration from nature, too. There are some really stunning combinations out there that I would never put together on my own. And the tiebacks are perfect! As far as wall art, I think it’s obvious that you need to order some canvas prints -next time they are on sale – of your extended fambly-wambly. Obviously. π I look forward to seeing what other ideas you put to good use. Lovely!
They look great! You need throw pillows made from one of the coordinating fabrics on fabric.com, of course π Seriously, though, I love the color combo–it would so cheerful to wake up and be greeted by those curtains. π
I LOVE the curtains with the whole package. Thanks for sharing!!
Your guest room is turning out really good :). If you want to add more color to the bed colored sheets would work and you could fold the comforter back to reveal the colored sheets and add pillows with the pillow cases to match the sheets. I did something like this on my bed. I have arranged my bed this way because I have a white comforter. It looks really good when done this way. I can send you a picture of it if you like. I think yellow throw pillows would look good too.
Looks great Christa! Yellow happens to be my favorite color π I might go check out that fabric . . .
LOVE! the pattern is adorable and I LOVE the yellow!
I actually really like your white bedspread. I would leave it and add it yellow pillows as some have said above. Do you have any material from the curtains left – even scraps? Maybe make some ruffles to go on solid yellow pillow or rosettes? Add in some yellow or fun colored sheets or find a throw in a yellow or another color to put on the foot of the bed.
As for the walls – love the frames – maybe hang them? or make a wall of empty white frames – http://pinterest.com/pin/84845101/

ok, enough ideas for you. π why is it easier to give advice on other people’s rooms instead of just doing mine own??
LOVE that fabric!
