I have some sad news.
Very sad news.
If you follow me on facebook, you may already know what I’m about to say…
My precious little canon rebel is not working. *sniff*
*snort* *sniff, sniff* *sputter* {excuse me for a moment}
Okay, I’m back.
Yes, it’s not turning on. Boo. I’ve contacted the company about it and they will evaluate it for free and if the problem is covered under the warranty, they’ll also fix it for free. But I have to ship my little rebel off to some other state. And he’ll be sad and all alone in a stuffy brown box. :'( And I’ll be all alone without my little camera friend! Boo!!!
All that to say, I am left with my ipod camera and a point and shoot camera I bought for about $30 that works like I bought it for $10. 😉 So, please. Bear with me as I share pics that may not be as clear or beautiful as if little rebel had taken them.
For today, I want to share a new little thing I’ve been loving lately. It’s called Pinterest. In their own words, “Think of Pinterest as a virtual pinboard — a place where you can create collections of things you love and “follow” collections created by people with great taste.”
Kinda like a virtual bulletin board. 🙂 Today, I want to share some of my inspirational food pics. This is a new place where I’ve found lots of ideas for crafts, decor, parties, home life, style, food & drinks. Remember our Kickin’ in the Kitchen series? One of the tips I shared was to look for food – and food places – that inspire you to get busy in the kitchen. Here are some of mine…all courtesy of pinterest. 🙂
Octopus Dip
absolutely stunning at a kids’ birthday party
Peanut Butter Cup Cupcakes
um, excuse me? these look stunning, but, hello? how easy would this be?
I’m thinking box mix, simple pb frosting, throw a pb cup on top, frost and sprinkle.
Pow. Done. Eat it.
How to make heart cupcakes
Stick a marble in there and call it done.
Brilliant.
Apple Sandwich
stuffed with granola, peanut butter & chocolate chips.
Yowza.
Fruit popsicles with Capri Sun
or sub with your fave juice. this looks good enough to eat. 😉
Chili & Cornbread in a Jar
Oh baby, this is when I’m glad I live in the south.
Find the recipe here.
Patriotic Cake
This is gloriously beautiful and easy. Seriously.
Now I want to have a 4th of July party so I can make this and impress all my friends.
I’m saving the best for last…
BBQ in a Jar
Now, this is where things start to get awesome.
Check. it. out. Baked beans, slaw, and bbq on top.
Score!
This is what I call True Beauty. Beautiful on the inside and outside.
This coming from the girl who likes collard greens, sweet tea, and cheese grits.
So, did any of those pics inspire you?
Which one is your favorite?
Because I officially am inspired.
And wanting to go find some Ball jars at a thrift store so I can make some of this meal-in-a-jar stuff.
Summer Beauty – found in food.

I’m on Pinterest and Elizabeth is now going to teach me how to use it. We were just talking about my need to learn, and then we clicked on here, and that confirms it. I need to learn.

hahaha!!! Sorry! (but I’m not really) 😉
yeah, I could definitely go for several of those popsicles at this very moment. But if I had a choice, I’d take the BBQ-in-a-jar any day. 🙂
I found you and am following you! 🙂
I’m loving the heart shape cupcake idea! The fruit pop looks yummy, but I compared some prices the other day and figured it would be cheaper (and obviously less work) to buy the Real Fruit or similar type bars.
My favorite was the peanut butter cup cupcake! What a neat idea! I was invited to join pinterest, but haven’t taken the time to do it yet. Looks like fun though, so I’ll have to try soon! 🙂
