This past week, Jonathan traveled to Kentucky to defend his dissertation. The oral defense took place Thursday afternoon, so my kids and I held an “official” prayer meeting minutes before he began.
A couple hours later, he called me with wonderful news:
He passed!
Yahoo!
Yeehaw!
And all the other sayings that express happiness and jubilation!
I’m incredibly glad God doesn’t give us a command, then drop us off to complete it on our own, aren’t you? When He gives us something to complete, He walks with us the whole way—holding our hand and giving us strength. That has certainly been our experience during this season. We thank God for the many ways He’s guided and provided through the past 4 years of this Ph.D. journey. Absolutely all glory goes to Him.
Thank you for expressing interest during this season of our lives. Many of you have prayed for us and I’m so grateful for your support.
Our final stop for this degree happens on graduation day, May 18. I cannot wait to see my handsome man graduate.
I sure hope they’re okay with loud, emotional cheering.
