Day 7 :: Good Medicine

When I asked married couples to share one thing that helped build their marriage, I referred to them as “seasoned” couples. I thought this was better than referring to them as “older.” 🙂 The first response I received listed the couple’s favorite seasonings (garlic & pepper) as the answer. 😉

Below is the “real” advice the wife shared after she gave me her garlic & pepper answer. Short & Sweet:

“As you can tell, a sense of humor is important to me. And in a marriage as well.
You have to be able to laugh together and have fun!”

~ Punky, married 38 years

“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” Proverbs 17:22

Indeed. Do you and your spouse have a healthy, fun-loving relationship?

Maybe it’s time to infuse your relationship with a little laughter!
Today, take time to laugh with (not at) 😉 your spouse.

    I wanted to share this with you….we were approached …out of the blue…this weekend and asked if we were on our honeymoon! She was so surprised to hear that we were celebrating our 10th anniv. She said that we looked so happy and so in love that she was sure we had just gotten married! I am so thankful to be in a Christ-honoring relationship where we really are more in love 10 years later, and can still have fun together!!!! :0)

  7. Oh Shannon, I {love} this!! That is my goal for my marriage. Thank God for the privilege to have a marriage that glorifies Him even though there are 2 sinners involved! All because of grace!!
