I have this little area in my room that I like to sit at each morning. Usually, I roll out of bed, throw my hair in some sort of ponytail, put on my old glasses from highschool, and stumble over to this desk. I just thought you would like a mental picture of what really goes on. Naturally, I’ll not be showing any pictures of myself in this post.
Anyway, there are some mornings when Jonathan brings me coffee in my current favorite mug. Since I don’t have coasters, I always set the mug on a book or something, so as not to leave any marks.
Certainly a workable solution. But not a pretty one. I remembered I had 4 cork coasters {from way back when…} just sitting in my craft drawer and decided to put them to good use. Basically, all that’s needed for this little project are three things:
- coasters
- glitter tape
- scissors
I adore this glitter tape. It’s easy to use + the glitter doesn’t fall off after you use it. Win.
All I did was measure how long the tape needed to be by holding it against a coaster,
and then I cut off enough strips {using that first measured strip of tape as my guide}.
Peel the backing off the tape, affix on the coaster, and then cut the excess tape off the edges.
Voila. Your very own glitter coasters. I love the spark of happy these bring around my house.
So easy! Now, why didn’t I think of this before?
Happy creating!
