I bet you never learned that one in math class, did you? Allow me to explain:
Green.
Red.
Put them together.
Add a little of this.
And there you have it, my friends. Green + Red = Healthy.
I decided to make a homemade strawberry poppyseed dressing. I did not use a recipe. It turned out okay.
(translation: it was oily, I couldn’t get it to combine right in my cool little oil dispenser, and I won’t make it again. Which is technically impossible anyway seeing as I have no clue what all I put in it, much less the proportions.)
If you decide to make a homemade strawberry poppyseed dressing, I suggest looking at these recipes from Simple Bites and Cheeky Kitchen. The one from Cheeky Kitchen looks exceptionally delish.
And there you have it. Green + Red does indeed = healthy.
Math class over.

My homemade dressings always turn out oily too–and I have a similar cruet (or whatever it’s called). Maybe it’s the jar and not the cook
Your salad looks delicious! Love strawberry season

aha…a good conclusion. I should save an old bottle from one of my dressings and see if that makes a difference…

I actually use Ken’s Northern Lite Italian for Spinach/Strawberry salad. And feta. Kind of a weird combo, but I love it. Actually, I use that Ken’s for everything!
mmmm…that sounds yummy. and we loooove feta!!!!! especially that tomato-basil feta from athenos. oh yum.
I need to blog about my spinach salad strawberry
I make a version of this salad – http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/cooking-live/spinach-salad-with-strawberries-recipe/index.html.
The pecans or walnuts done like that are DIVINE! and I always make extra and just store them so we can have the salad multiple times.
I add mandarin oranges and grapes to it too if I have them and FETA cheese too – yummy! and salad oil?? not sure exactly what that is supposed to be – I have used canola sometimes and olive oil sometimes. I refrigerate it cause I add some crushed strawberries too it. which if you use olive oil solidifies it – but you can melt it again in the microwave or on the counter.
This salad is my all time favorite!!

Hahahaha! I started looking through your recipes cuz I want to make some salad dressings. I love your description following “it was okay”, especially the “I won’t make it again.” Too fun.
