Friday Faves

It’s Friday!
And you know what that means: Time for another edition of Friday Faves!

friday favesHere are 5 of my favorites from this week:

1. This sequin pillow from Jones Design Company:

JDC sequin-pillow-on-chair

And you know Emily made this herself…sewing all those tiny sequins on? Nope! She totally got that sequin fabric from one of Old Navy’s tank tops. She’s brillz, I tell you.

2. This saying totally made me laugh & become sad at the same time. Because my scissors have not glided once this season. *sniff*

3. I think this paper garland via Bird’s Party Blog is gorgeous:

It would be very time consuming to make, so I don’t know that I will ever make it…but I still think it’s beautiful.

4. Starbuck’s “knockoff” drinks. I found out about this ebook from MoneySavingMom. Not sure if the recipes are legit, but – I would like to try the chai tea & find out.
I’ll let you know if it’s any good!

5. The King’s Kitchen

This one is for all my Charlotte area friends:

Jonathan & I met some friends for dinner this week and decided to try out a new place. So glad we did. The food was excellent: {blackened catfish, butter beans, cheese & bacon grits, & black-eyed peas}, but what is even cooler is the restaurant’s mission statement. Check it out:

“The King’s Kitchen” will operate as a public restaurant, serving local, healthy, Southern cuisine and the profits and proceeds from “The King’s Kitchen” will go toward feeding the poor. In addition, The King’s Kitchen will also operate “The King’s Kitchen Restoration Program” as a five part training program to employ, train and minister the gospel of Jesus Christ to homeless, the poor, troubled youth, rehab graduates and other members of our community who are in need of employment.

Meals are a little more on the pricey side – averaging around $17 or so for a plate. But the food is excellent and seriously – where else can you go to get great food and give back to the community? If you live around Charlotte, I highly recommend stopping by for a tasty meal!

~*~*~*~

So, you ready for Christmas next week? I hope so.
Take a deep breath, focus on Jesus, & love on those around you.

  1. I’ve tried that chai tea recipe (slightly modified), and it was A.MA.ZING! The only difference was that I used black chai tea bags instead of black tea and adding the spices because I didn’t have all of the spices on hand. Either way, I highly recommend trying it. 🙂

  2. Mmmm…I will! Jonathan loves to get Chai tea, so I should try it during one of our “home dates!” 🙂

  3. love all your favorite things. 🙂 a sequined tank top is definitely on my thrift/yard sale to find list 🙂
