This next step can vary quite a bit in cost. You can take it to the max and spend a bookoodle of $$$. Or you can go a bit more minimalist and just spend a small amount.

Even if your budget is literally $0, you can still spruce up the front of your home by clearing out any weed/flower beds in front of your home.
If you have a teeny budget, try going for flowers and greenery that spreads instead of just 1 lonely plant. Also, now that we’re in yard sale season, this is a GREAT time to be on the lookout for pots or other items to put on your porch and fill with plants! Don’t limit yourself to looking for a plant pot either. Baskets, barrels, wooden chairs, tree stumps – all of these items could look awesome with a plant in it. Use your imagination and find something you love!

Really, this series is born out of my own desire to improve the outside loveliness of my home. Sure, we’re renting our house, but that doesn’t mean it has to look like an overgrown pile of weeds, right? And seeing as that’s how things have become lately… I decided something must be done.

As I studied the front of my home, I discovered several things:

• there are some things that would look better if they were replaced/fixed
• most of those major things = major money {ex: windows}
• there are a lot of things that = $0 + lots of hard work

We aren’t in a position to sink a lot of moolah into our home. However, there are things we can do to improve the curb appeal that cost little to no money. We’ve been working on the outside of our home over the past month and are beginning to see a bit of improvement. Woot!

If you’re looking for some ways to improve the curb appeal of your home, then you will love  this series! 7 steps to improving your home without investing major buckaroos. Now who doesn’t love that? This series will run on Mondays & Wednesdays for the next few weeks. Be prepared for lots of gorgeous home inspiration! Let’s get started with Step #1:

Have you ever seen a colored door that you loved? Some colors are bold and others are much more subtle. My personal favorite is the eggplant door above. Such a gorgeous shade that adds color and sophistication at the same time! Painting your front door in a shade that compliments the rest of your home is a fabulous way to add curb appeal on the cheap. Just be sure you don’t pick too crazy of a color or you might completely lose in the appealing department!

I’ve been inspired by beautiful outdoor spaces lately. Perhaps its the warmer weather we’ve been having this week? Either way, these pictures make me want to go soak up the sun with a good book {or a long nap!} and an icy drink. Click on the pictures for the source or check out my Outdoor Spaces pinterest board!

How about an afternoon getaway in this space? The only thing I would change is to make the chair long enough for me to lay down in…and maybe a table for the drink so I don’t actually have to get out of my chair to sip. #firstworldproblems

Oooohhhh…this might be my favorite one. The lanterns, flowers, greenery, and a lovely pitcher of sweet tea {I think it’s peach tea} on the table. Perfection.

This would be a nice place for a romantic date with my hubby. I’ll bring the food.

I love everything about this picture. Except for the uncomfortable looking chairs. They’re gorgeous and all, but if I were you, I’d bring an inflatable cushion to sit on during this luncheon.

Ah yes. You can invite me to a party like this:

So, any big plans for the weekend?
I’m headed to a high school graduation service for some of the teens in our youth group. And tomorrow we have a couple grad parties to drop in on. Other than that, sleep and hang with the fam! Enjoy your weekend, friends!

Drumroll, please….

I present to you an updated Tutorial Page! One where you can just scroll through and see all the tutorials I’ve done at a glance instead of scrolling through a bajillion posts to find what you want. I think it’s pretty self-explanatory, but just to make sure it’s as easy as possible for you to access, just follow these steps:

1. When you come to the site, you’ll see different tabs under my header image. Click on the one named, “Tutorials.”

2. That will bring you to this page. For now, I plan to put my newest tutorials at the top, so we’ll see how that works in real life.

3. An extra detail: just hover over any of the pictures to see a description of the tutorial. See in this one below – I hovered over the picture and the title “Happily Ever After DIY Canvas” came up. Just another thing that will hopefully make things easier for you to find.

If you have any issues accessing any tutorials or come up with an idea that would make things easier, do let me know! I am sooo not tech savvy, but between some determination + internet searches, I can usually figure out minor bug issues.
