Do the Wave

I have a dirty secret to tell you.

It’s about the wave.

The microwave, that is.

{psssssst…I hate cleaning my microwave.}

As if you couldn’t notice from my picture.

Here are some great tips for cleaning your microwave. Because I’m assuming there are some of you out there with the same problem.

My blessing for today? I have a microwave. Sure, I don’t like cleaning it. {New Year’s Resolution, anyone?} But I have one. And it makes life a lot easier…especially with kids. That way I can do things like this. And then I can clean my microwave again.

I guess I can take the cleaning that comes along with the convenience. Okay, I’m convicted. Better go clean it now.

What are you thankful for today?

    I remember this time I had a SUPER neat-o friend coming over so I busted my tail to clean. It was great until she wanted to warm up her Chai before she went home and I hadn’t gotten to the microwave. It wasn’t pretty. I just had to laugh later and say, “Really?”. Current microwave status: Fair.

  2. The blessing in (a very unpleasant) disguise I’ve been thinking of today is .. . .*drum roll* . . . . Pain in Childbirth!
    I recently heard a group of ladies discussing what they “deserve” after giving birth. Let me tell you, I had a 30hr unmedicated labor with lots of unpleasantness involved 🙂 but really, what do I deserve? I don’t experience pain in childbirth only because Eve sinned. I experience pain in childbirth because *I* sin. And I deserve death and hell because of my sin. My merciful God gives me only pain in childbirth instead of what I really deserve. And then there’s all the joy of a little new life to follow the pain. Yes, today I’m VERY thankful for pain in childbirth and for the mercy that didn’t give me what I truly deserve!

  3. Microwaves are definitely not on my top 10 favorite things to do when I’m bored list, but I have to say that I have discovered a tip to making it easier to clean. And yes, this is from a pinterest find. 🙂

    Heat a bowl of water and vinegar for 5 minutes in the microwave, the steam will dissolve stuck on stains. Simply wipe off.

    I have used this tip ever since I saw it and it works really well! Plus you don’t have to stand there for longer than it takes you to wipe it down. 🙂 Hope this helps make a dreary job less dreary!

  4. thanks, Elissa! I will try it today. 😀
