because i don’t have anything else to do

A couple weeks ago, my husband convinced me to get a new theme for this site.

We are still having marital difficulties over that decision.

{long awkward pause}

I’m kidding. We had them; that is true. But we kissed and made up about it.

Aaaaanyway, I’ve been using little pockets of time to try to figure out this new theme, how to change it to look the way I want, and blahblahblah. It has not produced blood or sweat, but I may have shed a few tears over it one night. Basically, website development is not my thing. But I’m learning; so that’s a positive, right?

One of the things I’ve been working on is a new logo. I’m not a very decisive person. As in, my husband frequently shows me much patience + grace while waiting for me to decide on ice cream flavors, menu items, and well, pretty much everything else. So, I’ve come up with a few logo options and would love to get your input. You know when you work on something for forever and feel like you can’t see straight anymore? I’m about to that point.

So, here are five options:

:: ONE ::wc png 500

:: TWO ::circle wc png500

:: THREE ::
png

:: FOUR ::outline

:: FIVE ::ink splash white text

Which one do you like best? Or do you dislike them all? I’d love to get your opinion!
There’s one I’m leaning towards because of the website design & one I love just because I love it. Which is precisely why I need help. Thank you, o ye graphic design lovelies!

    I really like the first one, but I like to see your name in #3 also. Maybe you can add your name underneath the Brown Sugar Toast in the first, just smaller?? Great job!

    I prefer number four. I think the beautiful typography gets lost in the paint splotches. I love the clarity of 4. I enjoy reading your blog no matter what the header looks like, though. 🙂

    I really like one as well (but who am I to judge?!). 🙂 But the first time I read it I said in my head: “Brower Sugar Toast” because of the way the ‘n’ looks in that font. No biggie, and may be influenced by the fact that we have some friends whose name is Brower, but just thought I’d mention it! Good for you for learning about site design 🙂

    I like 1 and 4 equally. Five feels a little too muddy for me. Two feels closed off and three feels too busy. Hope that helps.

    #4 is my absolute favorite. I like #2 as well, but there is something about the simplicity of #4 that is just so visually appealing.

    My first inclination was to #1 followed by # 2 but after looking them over and trying to visualize on your page i liked #4 🙂 i know not much help right? I am terrible at decision making Good Luck!!

    I like the lowercase versions of the logo (referring specifically to the lowercase “b” and “s”)
    I like #5 (is #1 basically a narrower/cropped #5?)
    Or #1 if it’s to be used as your banner.
    I like #2 if it were lowercase and used as a thumbprint or signature (basically a zoomed in version of your banner). Does that make sense? Kind of your mini logo.

    If I were to rank them, I would agree with Zach’s order.

    Great job btw! Design is so hard to do! Who would’ve thought???
