breaking rules + about page

When something has been the same for approximately 4 years, it’s generally time for a change.

Such was the case with my About page.

I had made teeny changes here and there – changing pictures out when a new baby was added to the family – things like that. But when I started blogging 4 years ago, Brown Sugar Toast was more of a DIY/crafts/recipes site. And now it’s propelled more by my interest in writing instead of an interest in crafts. Crafts Schmafts. don’t tell anyone, but I secretly like crafts when they don’t have to be perfect.

Anyway. I spent a lot of time researching “how to write a killer about page.”
No lie. I actually wrote that in my swagbucks search bar.
And I found some great ideas. But when I tried to write it out like that, it just didn’t sound like me. Or like the desire I have for this online space.

And so I broke the rules of how to write a killer about page and decided to just write my own non-killer about page.

Yes, I know. That sounds oh-so-very-millenialist, does it not?

I also added a few updated pictures of my sweet kids + my handsome husband. I think it seems a lot more like who I am + what I want this online space to be for you. Click here to check it out. And I’d love to get your feedback on anything that seems wonky. If you like it or hate it, I’d love to know what you like/hate. Just be nice, k?

I know you will. You’ve already proven yourself to be super nice people.
Check it out here! Thanks, friends!

I love the new about me page and the pictures are beautiful! It gave me the opportunity to read your birth stories which I found fascinating since I am 37 weeks with my second. I’m hoping to have a natural birth this time, my 1st was an induction and involved a lot of pitocin. I just couldn’t handle the pain of it all. I’m still not sure I can do it naturally, but I’m going to try!
