A Fab Find

Last Monday of June!

What?!?!?!?!? Crazy!

You know, 6 months from this past Saturday is Christmas. 🙂 I can’t believe how this year is flying by!!

On to other news…

I {heart} thrift stores.

Goodwill, thrift, salvation army, you name it. I love ’em. Admittedly, some of them are overpriced. Others seem to only sell junk – things that should have been thrown away years ago. However, I have had some great experiences in these stores. Allow me to share one of my most recent finds…

I was browsing Salvation Army on Wednesday (1/2 price on all their clothes – woot!!) and decided to look at their knick-knack things. I found this large jar type thing that looked cool.

Picked it up.

Put it in my cart.

Couldn’t figure out where to put it.

Put it back on the shelf.

Saw some lady walking towards it.

Got nervous.

Put it back in my cart.

Looked at the price tag.

Decided I loved it and determined to find a place for it.

🙂

Got it home and tried it in my bathroom.

Wanna see it? 😉

Okay. Confession time. This sat in my bathroom for weeks – with the price tag on – because it took me for.e.ver. to take a pic of it. In my defense 😉 my camera broke. boo. That’s all the defense I have. 🙂

Here are some more pics:

I love the way it looks with my shower curtain!

And here it is reflected in my mirror:

I didn’t intend to do a beach-y theme, but the colors are kinda beach-y, so when a little girl gave me some of her seashells, I decided to incorporate them in the bathroom. 🙂

So, that was my $3.99 Salvation Army find. I dearly love it. And getting it inspired me to organize the back of my shower and put away un-needed bottles. A good change indeed.

What do you think? 🙂

Ha ha- loved the part about getting nervous when someone was walking towards it. I love thrift shops, too. Bought some camp clothes for Reagan there this week. I do wonder who prices some of this stuff. The last time I was at the SA store, some guy was checking the price on a brown jug and it was $23. Really?

  2. crazy! I saw some big bookcase that was in pretty sad condition and $500. Um….no. 😛

  3. I’ve noticed that a lot of thrift stores sell things at retail or more…..but I do so love half priced days at the Salvation Army <3
